Its been more than a week since the start of my pediatrics posting at KKH. Its rather interesting sometimes being in a pedistric ward. During my first week of posting, there is this pair of twins in ward which really caught people's attention. Being mixed blood babies, they have a caucasian baby doll face consisting of big round eyes with double eye lids, long eye lashes, really pink cheeks and fine brown hair. The elder twin loves to cling around her mummy while the younger twin enjoys playing by herself. One could find the younger twin sitting at any corner of the room be it in front of the fridge or the toilet, playing by herself. Being a popular baby among the staffs in the ward, one would almost always find her around the nurses' station where everyone would be crowding around to play with her sometimes while feeding her.

Its also interesting to find a child crying miserably during events such as taking throat swab or administering medications at one monent and saying goodbye to the nurse at the other moment while still in tears when she left his room after completing her task. No wonder people sometimes says that kids are really innocent haha...

There was a patient's mother whom I really respected. Due to some reasons, it was really not easy to take care of the child. The attention and effort that she puts in to provide the best care in every aspect for her child really touches me.

Pediatrics posting is coming to an end soon..day shift tml follow by 2 nights..I hope I would be able to 'tahan' throughout the nights and not bang into the wall again haha..:)
