Had been going for attachments at NUH this week and the next. The staffs there are really nice and closely bonded. There were 8 patients in the ward and I felt a little nervous when carrying out nursing skills as its been some time since i've done any plus the fact that i've not brushed up on those that I've learnt long time ago. Finally met my preceptor on my third day of attachment and got to know a student nurse from nyp who is sharing the same preceptor as me. At least this makes clinicals not so lonely with the nyp nurse around.:) These few days of clincials really tires me out, reaching home only at 10 plus pm most of the time. The ward is really cold and I could feel myself dozing off occassionally when there is nothing to do. Guess I've not only learnt from my preceptor but from the nyp student nurse too. She's been in the ward for more than a mth and there are many things which I need to seek help from her. Felt a little nervous when communicating with the dietitians and doctors probably because I'm still new to the working ennironment. Felt nervous too when some patients asked qns about the medicine they are taking. Guess there's still a lot more stuffs which I need to learn. =)
