Went for my BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) course in nuh yesterday which was kinda interesting. =) I've got to learnt several methods of resuscitation such as one man cpr, 2 men cpr, cpr for infants and foreign body airway obstruction for both conscious and unconscious. The dummys they used to train us is amazing. It can monitor a lot of things and of course one of which i dislike the most is the part where it actually produce a crack sound if u happen to fracture the ribs each time..cos I've managed to fracture several ribs..Had a short training session before going for the theory and practical test after lunch. Attempted twice or more before they finally let me passed haha..Wonder why I just can't carry out the ventilations well and was asked to show 12 times for my rescue breathing..=p As for the infants part, I guess I was too rough le cos I smacked the infant's head against the edge of the table -.- Felt so embarrassed when the instructor told me that the infant must be in pain right now..^^" As for the 2 man cpr, I was day dreaming and was staring into space when I'm supposed to give the 2 ventilations, making my poor partner evon having to do 30 compressions all over again..felt so bad abt it..=x Overall, I sort of enjoyed myself during the course as not only I get to learn new stuff, the instructors there are funny and friendly too. =)
